Jacquard weaving is one of the most sophisticated textile production techniques, enabling the creation of complex patterns directly in the fabric structure. Understanding this process helps buyers appreciate the craftsmanship behind every scarf.
Yarn Preparation
Every great scarf begins with quality yarn. The preparation stage involves winding, warping, and sizing the yarn. Warp threads are arranged on a beam according to the design specification, with each thread precisely tensioned for consistent fabric quality.
Pattern Programming
Modern jacquard looms use CAD/CAM systems to program patterns digitally. Our designers convert artwork into weaving instructions that control each individual warp thread. This digital approach allows for rapid prototyping and precise pattern reproduction.
The Weaving Process
On the loom, the jacquard mechanism controls each warp thread independently, raising or lowering them to create the pattern as weft threads are inserted. Our Italian ALFA rapier looms can handle up to 8 weft colors per design, enabling rich, detailed patterns at production speed.
Finishing Touches
After weaving, scarves go through finishing processes including washing, brushing, shearing, and pressing. These steps transform raw woven fabric into the soft, luxurious product that reaches the customer.
